Rayna Tenay and the Very Bad Hair Week

In this fictional children’s picture book, Rayna decides that she doesn’t want to get her hair washed or braided and this leads to an itchy, soapy, and comical experience. She even tries to wash it herself and is in such a hurry to get to school she doesn’t realize her hair is standing on end and that she looks like the creature from the black lagoon. Needless to say, her classmates and teacher are confused by her peculiar look. It delivers a moral in a way that almost everyone can relate to that sometimes we have to do things that are good for us even though we may not want to. This story is great for any school aged child that has ever had to do something they didn’t want to do in order to better themselves.

Rayna Tenay and My Friend Omar

In this story Rayna Tenay has a best friend, Omar, with whom she does everything with. They play together every weekend. They play together at recess. They even share special secrets. But one day Omar is in a tragic accident and passes away. Rayna is left feeling empty and alone. She doesn't understand that Omar won't be around to play with or share snacks. This story teaches children how to accept the concept of death and that even though  someone passes they are always in our hearts.
